Autumn Concert 2017 - Rutter Requiem
Autumn Concert in St Andrews Church, Coulsdon was a really pleasant and positive experience. The church echoed to the lovely sounds of high quality music from organ, strings and choir, and many of the audience commented in the interval and afterwards, how much they had enjoyed it.
Mozart Regina Coeli, Durante Magnificat (previously attributed to Pergolesi), and Chilcott Singing By Numbers were all very well received and we were delighted with our 4 super strings Catherine Aldren, Violin 1; Karen Murray Violin 2, Penny di Spirito on the Viola and Katy Bielecki on the Cello.
In the second half the Chandos Choir sang the wonderful Rutter Requiem, assisted by the marvellous Nicholas O'Neill and Soprano soloist Carrie-Ann Williams. From our string players, cellist Katy Bielecki joined us for Out of the Deep and Catherine Aldren played violin in The Lord is my Shepherd. It was a really enjoyable event and we hope to see many of you again at our Christmas concert (9 December 2017) and the 2018 concerts on 14 April and 13 October - it is a bit early to mention next Christmas which will be 15 December 2018.
